WORK VILLA MIITOSHIRO, in which our Tokyo office was responsible for its renovation design and resides, obtained ZEB-Oriented evaluation.
This 60-year-old building with over 20,000m2 of floor area has disadvantages in terms of environmental performance nowadays, and it is an excessively unusual case for such a building to achieve ZEB-Oriented (BELS 5-star) evaluation.
A reduction of 45% in energy consumption (BEI value=0.55) was achieved through the application of energy-saving devices and systems, including high-efficiency air-conditioning, 300lx workplace setting with LED lighting, and improvement of façade insulation performance.
Along with the building’s 95% reduction of upfront carbon (compared with the newly built) and achievement of WELL Gold Certification , we were able to realize an innovative “environmental office .”
