How We Achieved Both Part 4

The WELL certification investigates and evaluates across ten categories. In the categories subject to on-site evaluation, in addition to being highly evaluated for air quality and lighting, the Mitoshiro Creative District scored high for intangible aspects, such as physical activity, community, and innovation.

Shifting vertical (up, down) circulation to horizontal circulation has increased opportunities for walking and encountering others; events hosted on the first floor help facilitate communication among employees; and the exposed ceiling interior provides a unique sense of openness that was not there before… The Mitoshiro Creative District, designed to balance energy efficiency and wellness which sometimes have conflicting evaluation criteria, also showed approved ratings from the employee survey across all categories.

The new office has succeeded in reducing its greenhouse gas emissions by approximately 96% while providing a comfortable space for users. We feel confident to continue to pioneer new ways of working.
