• ZEB3　Inuyama City Hashigo Nursery School

Inuyama City Hashigo Nursery School, designed with the concept of a ‘secret base in harmony with the rural scenery’ amidst Inuyama City’s beautiful rice-paddy fields, was completed in February 2025.
Inuyama City has declared its ambition to become a ‘Zero Carbon City’, aiming for net-zero carbon dioxide emissions by 2050; against this backdrop, the city’s first ZEB building has been established.
Comprehensive environmental measures have been introduced, ranging from improved thermal insulation of the building to the adoption of energy-efficient equipment and the use of renewable energy. Despite being a single-story building, which is typically at a disadvantage in terms of thermal load, it achieves outstanding performance in energy-saving calculations.
It boasts high performance, with a BPI value – indicating the building envelope’s performance – of 0.5 or lower, this ‘Full ZEB nursery building’ has an annual primary energy consumption balance of effectively 0% or less, providing a sustainable childcare environment where children can spend their days in comfort.
