Inuyama City Hashigo Nursery School

A single-story nursery building set within a rural landscape. The building is covered with a flat roof that harmonizes with the surrounding environment, creating a layout in which indoor and outdoor play areas are connected while mitigating solar heat load. The flat roof is equipped with high-capacity photovoltaic panels and incorporates gate roofs that introduce light and wind into the building. In addition to external insulation of the walls and roof, high-performance insulated sashes, and Low-E double glazing, a range of environmental strategies is employed, including a natural ventilation system, earth tubes, and automated lighting control, achieving Aichi Prefecture’s first Full ZEB nursery.
