This social and cultural prototype project positions “Neo-Metabolism” as a new urban regeneration and places the concept of “slow art” at the center of its creative process. This is a place of experimentation to realize the well-being of the individual, community, and earth, which features unique ways to produce a sense of circulation, tying the metabolism-enabling architecture to the city resources. Instead of focusing on construction, demolition, and completion, the project explores architecture and community based on the notion of “slow.” It adopts a technique of repeated construction, disassembly, and reconstruction on the basis that it will be reused at the end of its life, looking to find the “next application” of the city’s gaps and redevelopment sites. The project also aims to consider the future of the architectural production process and establish new connections between the city, architecture, and people.
