Suntory Hakushu Distillery

The Suntory Hakushu Distillery is one of the few distilleries in the world set within a forest, spread across the foothills of the Southern Alps. Since its inception, the project has been guided by the concept of “a distillery that senses the forest and exists in harmony with it,” with our firm consistently involved in its design and supervision for over 50 years. To mark its 50th anniversary, an extensive renovation was carried out to enable both visitors and staff experience the forest more intimately. Cherishing the environment passed down from the past, the distillery continues to mature over time as a place where both those who work there and those who visit can experience “Hakushu” with all five senses.
