Minatomachi River Place

The planned site, called LeNessa Nanba, is at the north edge of the Minatomachi district, adjoining the Dotonbori river. The plan was to build a music hall, as an emitter of youth culture, and a multi-purpose, multi-level plaza that combines with the waterside development of the Dotonbori River, on this site next to Amerikamura. This facility also combines with the road facilities of the Hanshin Expressway Public Corp., using a split level road system, and its structure is unified with the civil engineering works. The plaza, 180 m from east to west and 100 m from north to south, covers the road facilities, so it consists of large and small plazas, matching the elevation differences. The purpose of this multi-level plaza, with a large staircase 42 m wide at its widest, is to build a simple and dynamic outdoor space in the confused urban space of Minami. Its goal, combined with the Dotonbori River waterside space, is to create a new place of interest for Osaka. The multi-level plaza, which consists only of greenery, flowers, and decorative pavement, is an oasis on a hill in the city. An octagonal building, like a UFO landed on the hill, consists of the headquarters of FM Osaka Nanba and a standing music hall aimed at young audiences.
