This is a relocation and reconstruction project for a local core hospital, with an aim to provide stable and resilient emergency and acute medical care drawing on the disaster experience from the 2016 Kumamoto earthquakes. The building is designed in a compact volume with a simplified floor plan and centralized multipurpose spaces. By enhancing amenity for staff and taking advantage of the location overlooking Mt. Aso, it also aims to create user-friendly environment for all users of the building including patients, their families, and staffs.
