Kids Plaza Osaka (Previously Ogimachi Kids Park) is a new symbol of Osaka. Centered on the Kids Plaza, it is an experiential play and learning facility where children of the coming generation can learn through play and diverse experiences. The multi-purpose facility also includes the Kids Mall of food and shopping facilities, and Kansai TV, a broadcaster of lively media. The plan for the facilities was to organically integrate the space and charm provided by the nature and open space of Ogimachi Park with Kita Ward General Government Offices and the surrounding area. Kansai TV headquarters aims to be an open broadcaster with close community links, disseminating local information. Technically, its purpose was to build infrastructure for the 21st century and strengthen its programming production abilities, by, for example, building a serious studio 30m off the ground within the taller building, and creating a rational and flexible broadcasting station that is strong against disasters.
