NEDO International Demonstration Project – the Stem Cell and Regenerative Medicine Research Facility

Commissioned by NEDO to conduct an international demonstration project to expand Japan’s advanced environmental and energy-efficient technologies overseas, Yasui Architects & Engineers, Inc., as the managing company of the three joint companies, launched an energy efficiency demonstration project in 2013 for a new regenerative medicine research facility of the Shanghai Advanced Research Institute, Chinese Academy of Sciences. We proposed and deployed ideas such as high-efficiency heat source, heat recovery equipment, desiccant air-conditioning system, utilization of renewable energy, and BEMS (Building Energy Management System). Upon the test demonstration after completion of the building, we achieved a 46% reduction in the primary energy consumption.
