Osaka Metro Midosuji Line Nakatsu Station

A renewal project for a subway station. By wrapping the entire underground station with continuous bands of “Gates of Light”, we achieved the renewal of the station’s image with new lighting installation. “Gates of Light,” which employs LGP (Light guide panels), functions also as station signs, while its continuous wall to ceiling design (made possible by the third-rail system) adds dynamics to the space. The white line at the center of ceiling on the platform level extends up to the ticketing gate, leading people fluently across the station while concealing the chaotic wires from sight.
