The concept is to “connect” to the interaction and learning of children, safety, security, the environment, and the countries of Japan and Taiwan. In consideration of the high turnover of students, staff, and parents in Japanese schools overseas, the aim was to create a school that children would enjoy attending, based on the concept of a “connected school”. In this plan, gently curved balconies that softly enfold the school and Japanese-style environmental design to mitigate Taiwan’s strong sunshine produce a relaxed learning space while remaining connected to the streets of Taipei.
