Kobe City Subway Seishin-Yamate Line Sannomiya Station

As part of   redevelopment initiative—Eki ≈ Machi (Station as/through Town) Space—the station has been redesigned to become a new gateway worthy of a transformed city. Above the bustling ticket-gate concourse, an “undulating ceiling” inspired by the surrounding mountains, sea, and wind brings to life Kobe’s unique character as a city where urban life and nature exist in harmony. Embodying Kobe City’s civic pride: “BE KOBE = The city’s beauty is its people,” the area beneath the undulating ceiling has been designed as  “Runway of Light” that invites people in passage to shine, becoming the symbolic focal point of the “Eki ≈ Machi Space.”
