Our joint-venture proposal with Oshima Sekkei was selected in the international design competition in 2004. We built a 50,000 m² museum, and theater and studio functions with 1,400 seats. The goals of the project were to provide emotional encounters with the culture and natural environment of Inner Mongolia, and an “information space as a center for intellectual creativity” to deliver opportunities for advanced data exchange to more people. The project gave tangible expression to the heart and origins of the Mongolian people, who created their unique grassland culture through exchange with a diverse range of other peoples.
