Energy conservation in figures: Part 1

No efforts can be spared in the fight against global warming. Reusing existing architecture. On top of reducing our environmental footprint by avoiding a large-scale construction, this is also an attempt as an architecture firm to convey the value of well-constructed and maintained architecture to society.

The new office has achieved an approximately 96% reduction in greenhouse gases generated during production, transportation, and construction compared to creating a new building of the same scale. The building, which has cut its energy usage by 40% compared to before, has received the ZEB Oriented certification.

The renovation exposed the building’s structure frame, including the beams, ceiling slabs, and earthquake-resistant columns. By intentionally not adding too much, the new office can retain the history and value of the existing building while still allowing for customization, and by implementing the latest digital technologies, a comfortable work environment has been ensured.
