Embody the concepts of “bring nature inside” and “care for the environment"

The corridor around the courtyard encourages more lively communication. The sash windows on the courtyard side of the meeting rooms are fully openable, so the rooms can be used together with the outdoor terrace deck. We created a workplace environment that links people with nature in “scenery with On and Off modes,” so workers can feel peaceful relaxation in breaks from the ongoing stress of callcenter work. The use of natural light was positioned as a key design point, with a view to making effective use of the site environment. Top lights and large windows placed in all parts of the building efficiently bring in natural light. We verified factors such as the building layout and orientation, and the solar elevation in each season, to pursue an effective form for gathering light, and realized a passive design. We controlled thermal loads on the building with measures such as wall greenery louvers to block insolation, highly insulative external cladding, and the use of LEDs for around 90% of interior and exterior lighting. That suppressed lighting fixture energy consumption by around 40% from previous levels, and air conditioning power consumption by around 70%.
