As a commemorating project of Sakura Color Products’ 100th anniversary, the new Osaka factory was designed to integrate office, research, and welfare functions. Just as multiple colors are mixed to create a new color on an “art palette”, we aimed to construct a hub of creation where new ideas emerge from communication between employees. Multiple layers of seamless white bands resemble the stacking of palettes. Open meeting hall, a core of communication, is finished in wooden texture with natural light from the skylight, creating a warm and healthy atmosphere supportive of casual communication. Abundant amount of natural light contributes to achieving an environment for the high level of reproducibility of colors, which Sakura is enthusiastic of as a professional of colors.
