Nara City Main Government Building, Renovation

Seismic reinforcement and longevity improvement to create a government building that will be loved by citizens for years to come

The 40-year-old Nara City Hall was renovated to address the lack of seismic performance and improve citizen services. The key goals of the renovation process were to realize construction while keeping the building occupied, to shorten the construction period, and not to disrupt the working environment. In order to extend the service life of the building, the layout of the service counters was changed, the aging air conditioning system and elevators were replaced, and an emergency power generator was installed to ensure business continuity in the event of a disaster, thereby further improving convenience and safety.
